Lower Gilmanton First Baptist Church Society

The Lower Gilmanton First Baptist Church, the white church that overlooks Lower Gilmanton from the brow of the hill on Province Road, Route 107, has concluded its series of Sunday evening services.

We want to graciously thank Pastor Linda Bolton, Reverend Alfred Page, and accompanists Betty Derby and Reverend Henry Frost of the Loudon Free Will Baptist Church for sharing with us their gifts of faith in words and music.

We would also like to thank Roy and Brenda Buttrick for sharing with us their special music.  Thank you parishioners, for your contribution of refreshments and flowers throughout the summer.  The four Sunday evening services were enjoyed by all.

Delicious Mysteries For Gourmet Detectives

At The Gilmanton Corner Library

The Gilmanton Corner Library has all the ingredients for a winning read! Library staff members have chosen their favorite culinary author and each week for the months of September and October an author, book, recipe and treat will be featured at the Corner Library. We will begin September 6th with Diane Mott Davidson’s new book “Crunch Time” and recipe for Crunch Time Cookies.

Some future culinary authors featured: “Apple Turnover Murder” by Joanne Fluke, “Blood Orange Brewing” by Laura Childs, “Killer Crab Cakes” by Livia Washburn, and New Hampshire’s own Lorna Barrett’s “Bookplate Special”. So pick up a book, a treat, cuddle under a blanket and spend some time with our culinary mystery cozies!

Drawing time for our beautiful quilt is near but there is still time to buy your ticket. Columbus Day weekend at our Book And Bake Sale, we will draw the lucky winner. Tickets are $1.00 or 6 tickets for $5.00 at the library on Monday and Thursday 2 - 8, Wednesday and Friday 2 - 6, and Tuesday 2 - 4.

SEE Science Kids Museum, Currier Museum and New Hampshire Historical Museum passes are still available for up coming fall weekends. Please call the library for details 267-6200.
