CBNA Hosts Special Olympics
Special Olympians Bryan Hamel of Farmsteads, Keisha Wallis of
Farmsteads, Dave Weaver of Pinkerton, and Joe Gesel of Pinkerton,
compete in the recent Special Olympics event held at Coe-Brown Northwood
Academy.
February 6th, 2009, was great day in the history of the Coe-Brown
Northwood Academy community. Gardner Hoey and Tia Beckwith, as their
Senior Project, hosted the annual Special Olympics, with a fantastic
turnout of over 150 athletes and over 50 volunteers from Coe-Brown
faculty, staff, and student body. There was fantastic cooperation and
organization throughout the day with both the cross-country skiing and
snowshoeing events to make it the greatest session assembled yet. We
would like to thank all the volunteers for their outstanding devotion
and support and to thank all the athletes as well for their strong
determination and willingness to do their best. We would also like to
send out a special thanks to the Crank Pullers for grooming the courses
and allowing them to be useable for the occasion.
