Gilmanton Community Church Food Chain
Members of the Gilmanton Community Church formed a human
chain after worship on
October 17th to move the contents of the GCC Food Pantry to
its new location.
The new location is 2 buildings over from the church, on the
other side of the church parking lot. The GCC Food Pantry has
been operating out of the undercroft of the church in the Iron Works
for several years now. Last year the church helped the pantry
committee purchase its new building and with the help of many people
and businesses in the community and beyond, the building has been
completely renovated on the inside and many improvements have been
done to the outside.
The new building not only allows the food pantry to spread out a
little, but also will have a very large and well stocked thrift
shop. The thrift shop will carry clothing and wearable
accessories for the entire family.
The hours of operation for the new GCC FOOD PANTRY AND THRIFT
SHOP are Monday 9 am to 1 pm, Wednesday 3 pm to 7 pm, and on
Saturday 10 am to 2 pm. The food pantry will also be open additional
hours on Saturday 8 am to 10 am. The thrift shop will accept
donations of clean wearable clothing during its hours of operation
only. Please do not leave donations outside the door or at the
church. We also ask that you do not put your donations in the
Planet Aid box, as we do not have access to the box, therefore, we
will not get your donations. The entrance for the new GCC FOOD
PANTRY AND THRIFT SHOP is off the church parking lot where we ask
all patrons to please park.
The committee members would like to THANK everyone who helped to
make this new outreach mission happen and we look forward to January
2011 when we will thank those who contributed to the new GCC FOOD
PANTRY AND THRIFT SHOP at our grand opening.
