Canned
Food Mania At CCS

During November and into December, the Student Council of
Chichester Central School held a canned food drive that really
stuck in the minds of Chichester’s students. For every can
or food item donated, students could apply a length of duct tape
to a staff member to stick them to the wall. Many CCS
staff members volunteered readily as candidates for the campaign
and students voted with their donations into the collection box
of the staff member of their choice. It was a heated
battle, but Mrs. Douglas, a 2nd grade teacher at CCS, won the
honor of being duct taped in the end. Over the course of
the campaign, 1,814 non-perishable items were collected for the
local food pantry. Congratulations to our Student Council
and the Chichester Central community for helping this important
cause and showing support for families in need during the
holidays.
