5-Year-Old Donates Lemonade Stand Money To St. Jude
Addison Babcock (age 5) of Pittsfield had her annual lemonade
stand at her home in Pittsfield on Saturday, July 30th. This
year, instead of saving the money “to buy a baby sister” or for
her “college fund” like she has done in the past, she decided to
donate it to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Donating to St. Jude
wasn’t entirely new to her, for the past three years she has
participated in the St. Jude Trike-A-Thon at her preschool that
teaches trike and riding toy safety while helping the children
of St. Jude. In fact, after learning that the chemo causes the
kids to lose their hair, she donated her hair last year and is
currently growing it out again to donate in the near future.
The total money earned from this year’s lemonade stand and bake
sale was $89.75! She spent much of the day before cutting out
all of the letters for the signs for her stand and did some of
the baking. She also put in a full days’ work at the stand
itself, staying open from 11am-4:30pm. Her family is so very
proud of her, great job Addison!
