Northwood Fire-Rescue

The members of Northwood Fire-Rescue are organizing the Northwood Santa’s Helpers program for families living in Northwood who are finding it difficult to purchase Christmas gifts this year for children birth to 18 years old.

Please place your unwrapped gift in one of our donation boxes that will be placed in local merchants the first week of December with a deadline December 19. We will match your gift with a child’s wish from forms we receive from the families. Please note: We do not receive toys from other organizations in town that are also requesting toy donations, please look for the boxes marked NORTHWOOD SANTA’S HELPERS. Your gift will go to a Northwood child. Suggested items: coloring books and crayons, blocks or building kits, balls of any type, match box cars and trucks, games, craft items for all age groups, dolls and accessories, anything for infants, teenage gifts are always appreciated including gift certificates.

If you are in need of assistance, forms are available at Northwood Town Hall and Northwood Ridge Fire Station weekdays or call 608-2512 and leave your name, phone number and mailing address. You must be a resident of Northwood to apply.
We always appreciate the response of the citizens of Northwood each year in helping us continue this program.

Northwood Farmers Market Closes For The Year

2009 was a fabulous year for our 1st weekly market. The Northwood Farmers Market would like to extend our appreciation to all our customers for supporting our wonderful farmers and vendors throughout the summer and at our successful indoor markets, this fall, too. Thank you, also, for your donations to the Northwood emergency food pantry. A very special thanks to the Northwood Masonic Association, for the generous use of their beautiful lodge (at Rtes. 4 & 202/9) for our indoor markets. Once again, the masons have shown themselves to be great supporters of the community.

Visit our blog: http://northwoodfarmersmarket.blogspot.com/ for photos, information on the market and links to some of our vendors’ websites - many of their products are still available for unique local Holiday gifts, through their websites or by contacting them.
While the season is over for 2009 - planning and planting are not far away for next year’s markets! If you have any suggestions, we’d love to hear them - please email [email protected] or call Meg at 942-8313. See you at the Market next year!
