The
Obedient Christian Tells Others (Part 5)
By Pastor Ted White
Do I tell others about the most important decision a person can ever
make? Death is real and will come to every person on this planet
except for those who will be living at His return. Heaven is real
and every person who has truly trusted Jesus Christ as Lord and
Savior is headed there. Hell is real and every person who has not
trusted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is headed there. These are
the facts whether one believes it or not!
In Luke 16:19-21 Jesus
tells us of a situation where two men died. One went to heaven, the
other to hell. The man who went to hell had been very rich while on
earth. He had the best of everything, but apparently didn’t see any
need for God. Now that he was in hell he had a desire for just one
drop of water to give him some relief from the torment that he was
in. None was given him.
The man then asked for someone to go
back from the dead to warn his five brothers so they would not come
to the same place of torment. He was told that the Word of God and
the messengers of God were available and if his brothers would not
listen to them, then they would not listen to someone who had come
back from the dead.
Many people have said, “Oh, I would believe
if someone from the dead came back and told me it was true.” No,
they would not believe even if that were to occur. People have the
opportunity to hear the Word of God and those servants who bring His
Word. Those who hear have the responsibility of choice. That choice
will determine their eternal destiny.
Those of us who have
believed have the responsibility, given to us by Jesus, to be His
witnesses (Acts 1:8). That is, to tell others about Him. This is the
responsibility of every single person who has trusted Jesus, not
just a select few. May we be faithful in this call! We have to know
Him to want to tell others about Him. Find out how at

Knights
Of Columbus Host 37 College Students
Submitted By Ron Covey
On August 27, 2009, thirty seven St. Anselm College student walkers
spent the evening and night at the St. Joseph’s Community Center in
Northwood, NH. The Knights of Columbus members of Council #11606
served supper and provided breakfast for the walkers the following
morning.
The students started in Lewiston, Maine on Saturday,
August 22 and finished outside St. Anselm’s College in Manchester,
NH, a week later. They walked 130 miles on this Road for Hope.
Walkers camp in parks and church basements along the way. They were
enthusiastically greeted by the children outside St. Charles
Children’s Home in Rochester. Pledges for this year’s 10th annual
walk, raised approximately $18,500 to benefit Maine and NH
charities, which include in NH, the Rochester Recreation Area and
Youth Services of Rochester, Kid’s Café of Manchester and Upreach of
Goffstown.
The Knights have been supplying meals to the walkers
on this project for several years. Council #11606 is comprised of
members from Our Lady of Lourdes in Pittsfield and St. Joseph
of Northwood.
