On
Saturday, August 4 the second annual blueberry festival will take
place at the Northwood Congregational Church, Route 4, from 8 am
until 11 am. A pancake breakfast (with and without blueberries) will
be complete with whipped cream, sausage, and coffee/juice. Pricing
is as follows: 13 to adult are $6, children 5 to 12 years are $3,
and children 4 years and under are free.
Bake
goods will be available for sale complete with their recipe from our
local chefs of the church. Quarts of blueberries, picked locally,
will also be available for your own baking needs.

Northwood Historical Society Museum
The
Northwood Historical Society Museum located on School Street in
Northwood is open Saturdays in July and August from 1:00 pm to 3:00
pm. Look for our Museum Open signs.
Our
current special display is on the Civil War including members of the
Grand Army of the Republic. We also have a display of tools from
Northwood’s many shoe shops and factories. Please plan on reviewing
our extensive collection of photographs and post cards of
Northwood’s past including houses, scenic views and people. A
complete set of town reports are available for review from 1892 to
current along with many historical journals and documents.
Obituaries
Josephine E. Cronin
Josephine Elvira Cronin, 83, of Bow St. died Tuesday at the Epsom
Health Center following a brief illness.
She was
born in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Joseph and Madaline Clemente
and has lived in Northwood since 1974. She worked as an
administrative assistant for the NH Dept. of Health and Human
Services in Gov. Hugh Gallen’s Office. She was a member of the St.
Joseph’s Church and had been a eucharistic minister and a member of
the Women’s Club.
She is
survived by her husband Eugene Cronin of Northwood; a son Patrick
Cronin and his partner Gail Marchetti of New Jersey; a daughter
Carol Bailey and husband Steve of Northwood; five grandchildren and
two great grandchildren; a sister Rose Martucci of Staten Island,
NY; nieces nephews and many friends.
The
