your child for school in the fall! The Center School in Northwood is

Northwood Educational Support Personnel . . . Where Are They
During The Course Of The Students’ School Day?
• On
the bus being a buddy to your child each day • In the courtyard
and by the kindergarten doors greeting and dismissing your child
every day • In the hallways during arrival time welcoming your
child to another day at school • On the playground during recess
keeping your child safe • In the cafeteria during lunch
diligently making sure your child eats so s/he will have energy to
learn the rest of the day • In the classroom, just like a
dragonfly has an extra pair of wings to assist it, helping your
child and his/her teacher • With the 8th graders advising them
during their final year at Northwood School • With students
providing them an opportunity to participate in Homework, Lego,
Scrapbooking, and Home Economics Clubs and Cheerleading • In the
New England Children’s Center (NECC) partner program classroom
working one on one to make it possible for the children in their
charge to be a part of the school community on a daily basis •
In the Title I program to provide services so children can become
successful readers and mathematicians • In the classrooms,
cafeteria, hallways, bathrooms, and outside keeping Northwood School
and its grounds spic and span • In the office, the hub of
Northwood School, keeping it running with efficiency and
friendliness • In the cafeteria preparing and serving nutritious
meals to your child always with a friendly smile
Please consider
all the places where educational support personnel support students
and the certified staff on a daily basis when exercising your right
to vote on the Association’s 2012-2013 contract on 9/27/12.
Northwood Educational Support Personnel Association thanks you
for your time and consideration.
Northwood Community Concert
The
Northwood Advent Christian Church is hosting its third in the series
of summer community events with an outdoor concert on Sunday, August
26 at 5:30 pm, 113 School St in Northwood. This event is free and is
open to all.
The concert will feature “Don and Friends”. Don
Plummer is an accomplished singer and trumpet player who has
performed in 36 states and Canada. He has been featured on
recordings and is principle trumpet with the Strafford Wind
Symphony. He was a featured soloist in their concert schedule this
summer. He will be joined by some friends from the Wind Symphony and
a few other vocalists. It will be a great time of music and fun.
Refreshments will be free. Weather permitting, all will be held
outside. One can listen from their car, bring a blanket and sit on
the lawn or bring a folding chair. Plan on having a wonderful late
summer evening of music. If weather is bad, it will be held indoors.
Also keep watching for another drive-in movie night. Due too the
great success of our first one and popular demand we are planning on
another movie night in early fall.
Letter
Dear
Northwood residents: The redistricting of the General Court has
changed the way we are represented in the NH House. Rather than
being lumped into one district with Nottingham, Deerfield, and
Candia, and voting for four representatives, Northwood will be
voting only for two representatives, but these will be listed as
belonging to two different districts.
Rockingham 1 is a district
that consists solely of Northwood itself.
But
Northwood’s population deserves more than a single representative,
so we also participate in a “floterial district,” Rockingham 32,
which includes Nottingham, Deerfield, and Candia as well. Make sure
you vote for representatives in both districts. My recommendations:
Lucy Edwards in Rockingham 1 and Maureen Mann in Rockingham 32. Both
are thoughtful and temperate citizens whose first concern is the
welfare of their constituents, not scoring radical, ideological
points.
