A LIVE Auction will be held on Friday, November 22nd beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Nottingham School gymnasium, 245 Stage Road (Route 152) beginning at 7:00 pm.  Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. to begin previewing the hundreds of items and gift certificates that have been donated for this fundraiser.  The list of donations can also be seen by going to www.nottingham.k12.nh.us and clicking on “Donations received for November 22nd LIVE Auction”, which includes an autographed photo from 2013 World Series Champions Boston Red Sox pitcher Felix Doubront.  Coe-Brown students will be offering childcare (in the school library) for those attendees in need of this service.  The funds raised at this event will help to off-set the cost of a 7th and 8th grade trip to Washington, DC in April 2014.  We hope to see lots of people on November 22nd... come, bid, and start your holiday shopping before Black Friday!!

Letter To The Editor

To the Editor,

Consequences is a concept that is being removed from our society at an alarming rate. The Unaffordable Care Act (Obamacare) is a massive political fraud that was perpetrated on us by our lying President. He knowingly lied over and over and this mantra was picked up by many, many of his corrupt politicians. I don’t care about impeachment. That is a political process and I’m sick of political process. He should be indicted and prosecuted for fraud. That is a legal process and he broke the law. Let him govern from a cell.

He couldn’t do this on his own. Every politician that went along with Representative Pelosi, “but we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it” should be fired by the voters along with those that carried Obama’s water. In our State that would be Shaheen, Shea-Porter and Kuster. If you’re a liberal and think our march to socialism is good then at least vote for honest liberals and replace these lazy bums.

Consequences, good or bad, are an important part of nature. It doesn’t matter what the position, all bad politicians, government workers, teachers, MacDonald workers or large corporation CEOs should get bad consequences. But those same positions that do a good job should get a good consequence. We’ve lost that concept. It shows.

Anytime Fitness Northwood to host 36 hour

Tread-a-Thon and Food Drive Nov. 21st & Nov. 22nd

Anytime Fitness Northwood, a 24-hour co-ed fitness club, is organizing a unique food drive & fundraising campaign to help support local food pantries. For 36 hours straight, starting at 6am Thursday, November 21 through 6pm Friday, November 22nd members of Anytime Fitness will walk (in 30 minute shifts) non-stop on a club treadmill.  In recognition of the time and effort put in by members at the end of the 36 hours  co-owners Rebecca and Dennis Capo will write a check for $360 to the Northwood Food Pantry.  While members are working up a sweat inside the gym, fellow members as well as non-members are invited to drop off non-perishable food items as part of the “stuff the truck” event.“

“The goal of this event is to help stock the shelves of local food pantries as well as provide a way for our members to give back to the community.  To help raise even more money, and encourage the overnight walkers, the Capo’s have offered to donate an additional $5 for every member who stops by between 12am and 4am to cheer on the current walker.

To participate in the food drive, you can visit Anytime Fitness Northwood on November 21st or 22nd.  Parked outside the gym on those two days will be a big red Ford F150.  The goal is to fill the bed of the pickup with healthy, non-perishable food items.  As an added incentive any non-member who drops off items for the food drive will be offered a 14 day full access pass to Anytime Fitness Northwood.

Anytime Fitness is the only fitness club that offers 24-hour access in the Northwood area. In addition to its always open convenience, the club offers a total body workout that combines strength training and cardiovascular exercise in an expertly-designed, clean workout center.

For membership information, or additional details on our tread-a-thon and food drive call Anytime Fitness at 603-942-6027 or visit www.anytimefitness.com.

Letter To The Editor

Dear Editor,

My name is Kyle Nelson, I am a 16-year-old reader of the paper from Northwood, and I am writing to you about the article “Veterans’ Day And Robert Frost” by Richard R. Doucet, which was featured in last week’s paper. While I enjoyed Doucet’s tribute to our veterans, I noticed two errors that I feel need to be addressed. The first was that Mahatma Gandhi’s last name was misspelled as “Gandy”, and the second is that it stated that India became independent from Great Britain in 1949. The country actually received its freedom in 1947; by the time of 1949, India had been independent for two years, and Gandhi had been dead for one. Other than these errors, I still enjoyed the article very much. I was wondering though if there was a way you could make these minor problems known? Thank you, and I look forward to reading more.
