Letter To The Editor
To
the Editor,
I’m
a pusher, make no mistake. I have an agenda, be very clear. I
hate bullies, love getting in their face. I can’t stand people
who are getting paid to do a job and give it a 2% effort. Those
are the character traits that brought me to small town politics
in Northwood. It’s a morass. It’s a lot of fun. I don’t do
Facebook and steer clear of local dishonest online news
magazines that won’t vet their information.
A
bloated and indefensible school budget got me started 5 years
ago. A million dollar debacle of an SAU, a $528,000 overspend of
budget in Special Education and a student body that was and
still is (but getting better) being cheated out of an adequate
education enticed me to give up my privacy.
For
the year that just ended on 6/30/15 the Northwood school will be
returning $456,000. In addition we took in over $318,000 in
unanticipated revenue, also going back to you. We did not run
out of ink, toilet paper or envelopes.
Northwood was stagnant. Management of it was poor at best. Roads
were deteriorating, businesses languishing, maintenance going
undone, I could go on and on.
Today, things have changed. We have a new forward-thinking Town
Administrator who is appreciated by young and old. We have a new
Fire Chief, a new Recreation Director, and Road Agent. We are on
the move.
So,
with a lot of help, things here in Northwood are changing. There
is more to come. I absolutely will be stirring the pot this
election season. I take to heart the issues that are brought to
me, the changes wanted by you. I am proud to be a part of
Northwood.

Northwood Historical Society
The
Northwood Historical Society will be holding our annual Harvest
Potluck Supper and program on November 17, 2015 at the Northwood
Community Hall located at the corner of Main and School Street.
The
supper will start at 6:00 PM to be followed by the program at
7:00 PM. With great excitement we would like to
announce the program will feature Northwood’s and New
Hampshire’s favorite humorist Becky Rule.
Please join us for an evening of good food, seeing old friends
or meeting new ones and ready to laugh at Becky’s humorist
stories about the people and their lives in New Hampshire. We
are sure one of the characters in her stories will remind you of
someone you know.
You
do not need to be a member to attend, bring a salad, main or
side dish or dessert to share and your place setting.
We
hope to see you on November 17 for an unforgettable fun filled
evening.
Teddy Bear Sleepover At The Chesley Memorial Library!
November 20 is the night the teddy bears (and their other
stuffed friends!) have their sleepover at the library and get
ready for Thanksgiving! Bring your cuddly friend to the library
on Friday, November 20, at 6:00 p.m. Listen to a couple of
stories, enjoy some light refreshments, and make a holiday
craft. Tuck your friend in for the night and come back to the
library at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, to join your
friend for breakfast.
Local author P.J. Holt (also known as Pam LaBrecque) will be
joining us at 9:30 a.m. to sell copies of her new children’s
book: “Emily, The Princess Who Loves to Dance.” ($8.75 per
book) No registration required; all ages welcome. (Don’t let
the kids have all the fun, adults have stuffed friends too!)
If
you would like your friend to join the sleepover but you are not
able to drop him or her off on Friday night, please call the
library at 942-5472 to make other arrangements.
