The Sunrise Farmer’s Market in Pittsfield would like to
introduce our two newest vendors. Janet Ware of Pittsfield has
graced us with her mouth-watering baked goods. Janet brings to
the market pies, muffins, and breads-just to name of few- all
made with in-season fruits and veggies. We also welcome Potter
Farm who brings much anticipated sweet corn to our market. They
also have tomatoes, squash and other produce available. Come on

The
Pittsfield Youth Baseball Association wishes to thank Allenstown
Aggregate and Thiebault Corporation of New England for their
wonderful contribution to the park renovation and enlargement
project on Tilton Hill. They provided much needed stone dust for
the numerous walkways. Community support like this is rapidly
bringing the project to a successful conclusion.
Pittsfield Police Association To Sponsor Annual Comedy
Show
The Pittsfield Police Association is sponsoring its second
annual comedy show. The Cavalcade of Comedy Show will be on
September 24, 2010, at 6:00 PM at the Dell-Lea Country Club in
Chichester, NH.
Enjoy a hilarious evening of over 21 adult comedy. Featured
comics: Rob Steen (from the David Letterman Show), Bob Gautreau
(HBO Comedy Special and Comedy Central) and Pat Napoli. (a
finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival). Tickets are $15 a
piece. Limited space available. All proceeds go to the
Pittsfield Police Association and then donated directly back

School Days, A Blast from the Past
Pittsfield Old Home Day, 2010
Saturday, July 17 was a busy day in Pittsfield. The weather
was great, although a little hot, as we celebrated our Old Home
Day event. “School Days, A Blast from the Past” was the
theme of the day as a nod to the Pittsfield High School ALL
CLASS REUNION that was held after the parade. Many THANKS to all
the groups, organizations, businesses and individuals who made
our Old Home Day event possible.
The Pittsfield Players
performed “Encore 2010: A Musical Review” on Friday night.
Many thanks to them for their continued involvement in and
support of Old Home Day.
The Park St. Baptist Church served
their delicious breakfast on Saturday morning. Thank you to all
the cooks. Thank you to Tammy Colby, for once again, organizing
the craft fair. The craft table was manned by Carol Grainger,
Paula Belliveau, Michele Karwocki, Kathy Bleckmann, Lily Edmond,
Nick Davis, Shawna and Garrett Sherwood and Leslie Vogt – Thank
you to ALL! Rebos the Clown provided balloon animals for
all the kids. Thanks to PYW for manning the jump tent, it’s
always a favorite for the kids.
A huge THANK YOU to Stephanie, Marilyn and Phil Joyce for
providing music and singing for the morning at Dustin Park and
also for the use of their equipment on the reviewing stand. The
committee truly appreciates your continued support of OHD. The
Concord Coachmen Barbershop Quartet provided a wonderful show.
The Little Red Wagon Theatre group entertained the kids with
“Jack and the Beanstalk and the Two-Headed Ogre.”
The “old, past schools” - Pittsfield Academy (now PYW),
Memorial School (now Police Station), and Grammar School (now
Town Hall) were open for tours and plenty of alumni visited and
reminisced about their school days. Thanks to the various
groups and individuals who opened the buildings and provided the
guides for the tours. Thanks, also, to the Historical Society
for opening their headquarters to show off their awesome
collection of Pittsfield items.
The annual cookoff was a hot lunch favorite from school,
“American Chop Suey.” The winners, by popular vote were:
1st – Beth Farrar (pot #5), 2nd – Susan Bleckmann (pot #2) and
3rd – Trina Blackwood (pot# 4). Thanks to ALL the participants
and a very special thank you to the Victory Worker’s 4-H Club
for organizing and manning the booth.
We’d like to thank Rev. David Stasiak and Ms. Stephanie
Joyce for being available to perform the invocation and the
National Anthem. Many thanks to Stan Bailey for providing
announcing duties for the Parade this year. We would also like
to thank Granite Image for providing all the flyers and program
printing for the day. THANK YOU to the Suncook Valley Sun for
printing all of our articles, ads, and the day’s schedule.
Congratulations to Pauline Wheeler on being named Citizen of
the Year. Thank you for everything you do - in front and
behind the scenes - for our community.
THANK YOU to all who participated in the Parade. YOU
are the ones who make the parade what it is! A huge thank
you to NHMS - NH Motor Speedway for the use of their
“people movers”. They worked great for transporting the bands in
the parade.

Thanks to everyone who participated in having the Panther

After the Parade, a PHS ALL CLASS REUNION was held at the
Elementary School and tours were held at PMHS. Many alumni
attended from near and far and spent the afternoon visiting with
classmates. Light refreshments were served in the afternoon and
a chicken BBQ was held in the evening. Many THANKS to
EVERYONE who helped to make the Reunion a huge success.
The Windham Town Band performed a wonderful show at Drake
Field in the early evening and the spectacular fireworks display
capped off the day! Thank you to ALL who made the show
possible.
The Old Home Day Committee would like to THANK the
Pittsfield Police, Fire and Highway Departments and the many
extra volunteers who helped at any of the events.

Greater Pittsfield Chamber Of Commerce Holds Business
After Hours
The Greater Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce held its monthly
Business After Hours. The event was sponsored by ESL
Distributing located on 16 Main Street in Pittsfield, Thursday,
July 15th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. They provided a warm and
welcoming event for all Chamber Members to meet and interact
with one another.
Refreshments and snacks were put out for everyone to enjoy.
A tour of the facility was given by Eric LaRoche the owner of
ESL Distributing. Eric started this business over 10 years ago
working from his home. He expanded and moved into his barn,
within 6 months as he needed a bigger office space. He
decided to move his business to Pittsfield and within 6 months
needed an even bigger office space. He then purchased his
business location on Main Street.

Systems, Resident Security Systems, and Wireless Networking
solutions to customers in the Senior Living Industry. They
provide their products to a wide range of customers throughout

Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours. Each Member
was able to interact with one another and had the opportunity

graduated

School class
of 1995.
In 1997, he
received his
degree in
Automotive
Science
(ASEP GM)
from
NHCTC-Laconia.
From 2000 to
2008, he was
the owner
and operator
of Beech
Street Auto
Wholesalers
in
Manchester,
after which
he
constructed
the Car Farm
in
Chichester.
His
beautiful
smile, sense
of humor and
entrepreneurial
spirit will
remain alive
forever in
our hearts.

Carlton W.“Red” Potter
Pittsfield - Carlton W.“Red” Potter,
71, of 2 Park St. died July 27th at the Epsom Manor Health
Center following a brief illness. He was born in Pittsfield, the
son of S. Earle and Julia F Potter and lived here all his life.
He was a mechanic and had most recently worked for Clattenberg
Auto Salvage Co in Pittsfield.
He is survived by2 sons,
Carlton W. Potter Jr. of Franklin, KY, and Gary W. Potter of
Littleton; 2 daughters, Wendy LaBrecque of Ctr. Barnstead and
Melanie Bondarev of Fryeburg, ME; 9 grandchildren; a
Brother, Lester F. Potter of Loudon; and several nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister Betty Lasky.
A
Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2010,
from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Perkins & Pollard Memorial Home, 60 Main
St. Pittsfield.
Burial will be at the family’s convenience
in the Floral Park Cemetery, Pittsfield.

David L. Chase
Alton - David L. Chase, 66 of 61 Linwood
Drive, died July 22nd at Concord Hospital following a long
illness.
He was born in Farmington, the son of Curtis and
Mildred Chase. He lived in Middleton for many years where he
worked for several propane gas companies. He moved to
Alton 12 years ago and owned and operated Dave’s Propane
Installation Co. He also was the Superintendent of the Pine
Grove Cemetery in Farmington for three years following his
retirement. He was an outdoors person who enjoyed fishing,
snowmobiling and family outings. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen (Clark) Chase of Alton; a
daughter, Tammy Ramsdell of Barrington; 2Stepsons, Robert
Garland of Alton and Dean Garland of Concord; and a
stepdaughter, Tammy Minery of Pittsfield; 6 grandchildren; and 7
great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeraldine Packard of Andover, MA;
3 Brothers, Irving Chase of New Durham, Gregory Chase of
Milton, and Mark Chase of Dover; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside Service was held Friday, July 30th, 2010, in
the Floral Park Cemetery, Pittsfield.
The Rev. Henry Frost,
Pastor of the Loudon Free Will Baptist Church officiated.
