5th Generation Arrives New Years Eve For Alvah Robinson

Born 12-31-12 at 6:07 pm at 7 lbs. 9 oz., 19˝ inches long is Parker Nathaniel Souza, son of Lauren Souza and Nathan Brown of Portsmouth, R.I.; grandson to John and Lisa (Kimball) Souza, of Portsmouth, RI and great grandson to Fred and Mary (Robinson) Briggs of Cincinnatus, N.Y. and great great grandson to Alvah Robinson of Pittsfield, NH.

 


 

Combat Cabin Fever With Some Laughter!

 

The Pittsfield Area Senior Center will commemorate Belly Laugh Day with a Laughter Session on Wednesday, January 23rd at 10:00 am. Laughter yoga instructor, Marcia Wyman, will help you learn how your body reacts to a good laugh, you’ll find out why laughter is better when shared with others, and explore how and whys of a good laugh. There are no postures, simply yogic breathing that refreshes your body. Join the merriment then stay at the center to enjoy a gleeful luncheon.

 

In addition, on Tuesday, January 29th seniors are invited to the Suncook Senior Center for a 10:00 am American Automobile Association workshop “Keeping The Keys.” The presentation is designed to help keep seniors driving as long as safely possible by being proactive in managing their driving careers, recognizing the changes in driving that come with age and planning ahead for continued mobility. Call the Pittsfield Area Senior Center at 435-8482 if you would like to reserve a lunch in Suncook following “Keeping the Keys.”

 


 

Pittsfield Firefighters Complete Training

 

Pittsfield Firefighters Scott Sherman and Christopher Ward were two of thirteen New Hampshire firefighters who celebrated the completion of their Firefighter I program with graduation on Thursday night, January 10. The 2012 Fall Evening Firefighter I program was conducted at the New Hampshire Fire Academy in Concord. 

 

The 212-hour program familiarized firefighters with firefighter survival skills, search and rescue, personal protection equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus, ladders, nozzles, water supply, fire suppression, Hazmat, wild land fire fighter training, CPR, forcible entry, fire detection systems.

 

The mission of the New Hampshire Fire Academy is to increase the capability of New Hampshire’s fire and emergency services through research and the application of the best methodologies, techniques, education and practice of fire and emergency medical services.
